yahz. tt's basically sum up e past 2 daes. hmmz. well i was attached 2 neurology 4 tues n wed. as 4 thurs n 2dae i m attached 2 neurogsurgery. obviously u get wat i mean lahz. i get 2 go into e operatin theatres n observe operations lahz.

met Mr Ivan Ng who is a consultant in neurogsurgery. dun ask mi y he is named mister n nt doctor. i seriously dun noe. yahz. aniwae he's frm RI lahz. n it's like e whole neurosurgical department is split into 2 sides lahz. one side is e raffles family e other side is e anglo-chinese family. hahaz. so aniwae. Mr Ivan Ng is like one of e busiest pple i hav ever seen lahz. so obviously he cant take care of us rite? so yahz. we were dumped 2 various docs lahz. hmmz. aniwae in e mornin e whole grp of 7 of us follow a whole team of neurosurgeons lead by Mr Ivan Ng lahz. so we moved frm ward 2 ward lahz. n c quite alot of interesting patients. though most of e time i dun quite understand wat they r tokin abt.

so in e end derrick n i followed Dr Shane who brought us 2 a few more patients b4 we stopped in a rm 2 listen 2 him xplain one type of condition tt require surgical attention. yahz. it's a vry cheem word which i obviously dun noe how 2 spell lahz. sumting related 2 e blood vessel's wall softenin so in e end rite. e blood vessel look like e meanderin river w e ox-bow lake like tt. juz tt e lump/soft tissue/ox-bow lake will burst readily n cause bleeding within e brain lahz. after tt he brought us 2 e operatin theatre where we observe e operation near e back of e head 2 remove a tumour lahz. it's done by Dr Ng Wai Hoe (associate consultant) n oversee by Mr Peter Hwang (obviously is a consultant n who ask us where we r frm n sae luckily we nt frm hwa chong...dun noe y also). aniwae both consultants hav tt kind of boomin voice tt sure get ur attention wan lahz. wonder y? aniwae Dr Ng is vry nice as when he was doin e op, he was also tellin us wat he was doin n lettin us c as e microscrope he was usin was connected 2 a tv screen lahz. then he was like cuttin n cuttin, probin deeper n deeper. b4 he suddenly declared. tt's e tumour. i tell u ok. tumour is nt hard ok. it look like jelly juz like e rest of e brain. but b4 tt. e process of removin e skull n openin e skin was quite gory. hahaz. yahz. actuallie e whole op is quite bloody lahz. so yahz. but wat i cannt stand is e wearin of e rubber boots lahz. coz in order 2 go into ots. u hav 2 change out of everytin lahz. includin ur shoes. n tt rubber boots is like how hard n there is a heel summore. dotz. we stand there 4 ard 3 hrs i almost died lahz. n e aircon is like how cold. i cldnt feel my toes when i was changin. dotz.

went 4 a late lunch straight after e tumour was removed. cannt tahan alrdy lahz. after tt sum of them left 2 go 2 another doc's clinic. sumting related 2 e spine while mi n jensen make our wae back 2 e ots. tis time round. when we go back. e operation we were observing was endin onli. dotz. they were stitchin up e patient. n i managed 2 ask Dr Ng a few qns. hahaz. like y muz u use hydrogen peroxide 2 stop e bleedin. aniwae as tt op was endin le. so mi n jensen wait 4 e other wan 4 more than 1 hr. durin tt period of time. we were loiterin ard. goin 2 other ots 2 c other types of surgery e.g. ENT. GS. erhz. we didnt dare 2 go into e ots so we were standin at e door n peepin lahz. hahaz. so yahz. e op starts at 5.15 pm i tink. after our dismissal time. but then it's a different type of op lahz. so we decided 2 wait lorz. they r performin a op 2 insert a shunt (tube tt drain e cerebal spinal fluid frm e brain vesticles into e abdomen) as e patient is unable 2 do so normally due 2 various reasons n e excess fluids r causin a compression on e brain. yahz. so e whole process is like preparin e bbq chicken wing where u hav 2 poke e metal grill thru e chicken wing. tt's how it is like lahz. n due 2 tt particular registra who is doin e op rite it becum vry bloody coz his hand arhz. keep on shakin. dun even noe y he becum a surgeon. then there's another doc lahz. a Medical Officer. Dr Lee CK. he was makin a incision on e abdomen while tt registra is makin a hole in e skull. Dr Lee is vry nice as he xplained 2 us wat he was doin unlike tt registra lahz. so aniwae if u wanna noe e gory/bloody details then ask mi lahz. dun wan 2 make tis entry 2 long.

we left ard 6.45pm when they r still doin e stitchin. i tell u ok. my whole leg hurt lahz. dotz. hurt like anitin lorz. my lower back hurts also. i feel so tired tt my legs r ready 2 buckle ani moment.

as 4 2dae. reach vry early 2 attend a meetin w e neurosurgeons. one of them is presentin his analysis on a recent medical paper lahz. learn quite a few tings frm e meetin. hmmz. after tt follow Dr Ng on his round 2 c e patient tt was operated yesterdae. e removal of e brain tumour. he seem vry confused lahz. hmmz. n went on 2 c a few more patients. after tt rotted ard 4 a while b4 goin into e ots again.

went 2 observe Dr Ernest Wang (associate consultant) 2 do a vascular dun noe wat op lahz. e wan where e patient hav e soft tissue vessel. yahz. so they r suppose 2 find e lump n put a clip there 2 prevent blood frm flowing thru there n burstin it. hmmz. quite alot of tings happen lahz. as sum of e less experienced surgeons were doin e intial stages e.g. openin e skull etc. yahz. later. Mr Ivan Ng came in 2 direct lahz. now then i realise tt he is like how qiang. hahaz. vry vry confident. hands r like how steady. oh yahz. they r usin e microscope again lahz. so we get 2 c on e screen again. but tis time round. dun reallie not wat 2 look out 4 coz. dun noe much abt it wat. again lahz. due 2 sum mistakes make earlier. e whole process becum like how bloody. yahz. wanted 2 stay 4 e stitchin up but again need 2 go 4 lunch lahz. sighz. so left lorz.

after tt rotted 4 vry long time lahz. includin e time we went into ots again lahz. but didnt get 2 c animore ops coz one of them is finishin le. then e next wan will start like in 1 hr time n last ard 5 hrs? dotz. tt's how long. yahz.

aniwae durin 2dae's op. met e anaesthesian again frm yesterdae. Dr Mah CL. yahz. specializes in anaesthetics. seen all type of ops lahz. n tell us nt 2 becum a doc. n most impt nt 2 becum a neurosurgeon. ok. gd can. tt's wat i wan n u tell mi nt 2. dotz. hmmz. will tink abt it lahz.
